Consistency In Actions

Consistency is the basis for character. We are not our thoughts, even though they will some day drive our actions. We are not an individual action conveniently placed for others to see how great we are. We are the sum of our actions. We are the difficult decisions rooted in principle. And as this sum of our principled decisions grows over time, so does the distance between success and failure. Time amplifies our life’s work. Every day you live by your principles you grow in your success. Seek out those examples of humans with consistent and extraordinary courage both present and past, from the spouse unwavering in their commitment to the friend you admire most to Teddy Roosevelt to Cato the Younger. Their consistency will strengthen you and you in turn will strengthen others.
